1. How long you have been in business. (A professional DJ must have at least 5 years of DJ experience)

2. Do they have professional references like 3 clients you can call, professional organizations e.g. ADJA, FADJA? Can you call them up? (The DJ must be willing enough to give out references)

3. Can we see a SAMPLE PERFORMANCE or a SAMPLE VIDEO of the DJ before we hire them?
(Yes, please contact your DJ.)

4. Do they use PROFESSIONAL GEARS?  (Be careful of DJ's using home-grade equipment that are not designed to public address purposes)

5. How are you going to make my event succesful and memorable. (An experienced DJ must be able to give you a good idea of what can he do to ensure success of your event)

6. Do you take request from the guests? (Very important that the DJ not only take care of you, but also the needs of your guests)

7. Do you have an emergency plan in the event of unexpected circumstances, for example--car problems, DJ got injured the day before the event, etc. (An experienced DJ/businessman must have a back up plan for these kind of eventualities. If not, please consider talking to other DJ)

8. How would you work with my other professionals? (An experienced DJ must be able to able to work closely with your other professionals. Ask him the reasons for his answers. Very important that he give you detailed answers on this)

9.  Other than the main charge, are there any hidden charges, like--setup fees, tax, traveling fees, etc. (You have to make sure you are absolutely sure of what you are paying for and the DJ must be willing to put all of these issues in writing)

10.  What time you will arrive to set up for the event? What happen if you're late for the event? (Lot of DJ's arrive late or not having enough time to set up the equipment, do sound check, dress up, etc. Very important that the DJ will be there at least an hour before the event. And make sure you put this provision in the Contract or Agreeement)
